Our Savior’s will prayerfully kick off the new school year with a “Blessing of the Backpacks” during worship services August 27. This blessing is open to students of all ages, even adults signing up for classes for a new career, and adults in general.
Parents: have your kids bring their backpacks to worship for a prayer and blessing upon them, their teachers and schools.
Adults: bring your briefcases, laptops, smart phones, tablets, etc., and we will pray over your work devices.
Here is our chance to pray for our kids and community, asking God to walk with our students and give all of our schools great success this year.
Yes, we need you! Your gifts, your prayers, your hands and your hearts!
Throughout July, we gathered school supplies for the students of Johnson School – our neighborhood school – where we tutor, support and encourage the kids, teachers and staff. Donations of backpacks, paper, crayons, glue, scissors, notebooks, rulers, erasers and pencil sharpeners were collected for students.
During August, check out the Welcome Center for signups! We’ll be packing meals for the hungry, and helping complete projects around town and in the homes of some of our families who could use your extra muscles.
It all comes together on Good Neighbor / Rally Day – Sunday, September 10 with one worship service at 9:30! The kids can meet their Sunday School teachers, visit their classrooms, join in on the Brunch in the gym, and get to work with others as we all lift the burdens, tend to the weary ones and share the hope and joy of Jesus Christ who strengthens us for service and ministry.
All Hands on Deck!
