Daily Programs & Activities

In accordance with Illinois State Learning Standards, Playtown Preschool Center uses the “High Scope” curriculum, which emphasizes adult-child interaction, a carefully designed learning environment, and a plan and review process that strengthens initiative and self-reliance in children. Children will also develop fine motor and large motor skills; learn their colors; letters; letter sounds; numbers; and shapes.

Each day begins with “Circle Time,” when children discuss the calendar and weather. They also participate in singing, finger plays and stories. Children then work in the interest centers of the room. We end the day with prayer, snack and physical activities in the gym or outside.
