Little Ones Ministry

Our Little Ones Ministry meets every Sunday from 10:15-10:25 AM in the nursery. Little ones and their parents are invited to come hear a true Bible Story, sing, and pray with their little one. We encourage you to come and be amazed even if your little one is fussy or crying; we expect that can happen, it is their form of communication. Come, listen, learn, and see God at work.

Sunday School

All children two years old through 5th grade are invited to join our classrooms every Sunday from 9:45-10:30. Come get connected and learn true Bible stories, and how they apply to our daily lives. If you have any questions, please contact Cyndi Hlavin (cyndi@oslcrockford.com).

 

Children’s Ministry Mission of the Month
“Nickels for Nets”
 
The Sunday School children will be collecting nickels for nets. In partnership with our church family and as part of the ELCA Malaria Campaign, we will be purchasing mosquito nets for children in Africa. Drop your nickels into the water jug outside the Children's Ministry office. Collections will be taken thru Lent. It takes just $10 to buy one net. Working together along with God, miracles happen.

Souper Bowl of Caring

It’s that time again… the big game, food, fun, family, friends, watching the screen and enjoying the Super Bowl. As the playoff games continue to the big day, let us start thinking of another “Souper Bowl”. The “Souper Bowl of Caring” is Sunday, February 5, and youth from across the nation will be working together to fight hunger & poverty within their own communities. Youth donate 100% of the money collected this day to their local charities. Our children will be holding pots for your contributions on February 5 before and after each service. Thank you for caring for the people in our community.

 

 
First Communion Classes
First Communion Classes begin on March 4. If your child is in fourth grade or older and has not taken first communion class, we will offer Communion Instruction on Sunday, March 4 @ 9:45, March 11 @ noon, March 18 @ 9:45, and March 25 from 12-1:00. Classes will be taught by Pastor Jeff, Ryan Anderson, and Cyndi Hlavin. First Communion will be on Maundy Thursday, April 5, 2012. Families will enjoy a meal together before the service. Please sign up outside the Children’s Ministry office, or contact cyndi@oslcrockford.com.

Children’s Choir
Children in Kindergarten - 5th grade are invited to raise their voices each Sunday morning from 10:30 - 11:00 am in Room 204. We learn about music, both vocal and instrumental. We share our songs with the congregation and also have opportunities to participate in dramas. Come join us!!
